Volleyball

We have been super busy with Taylor's volleyball
schedule and traveling all over the place. We are
coming to an end with her final tournament this
weekend. All of the family has had a chance to
see her play so it has been a good time for everybody.

Update

Well as always I am so bad at doing this blog thing.
We have been very busy here at the "Parrish" house.
Taylor is full steam ahead with volleyball right now and
we are always on the go. She does practice 3 times a week
and now the tournament have started. Right now we
are traveling every weekend.
Hunter just got signed up for baseball and I am so excited.
We have been out of the baseball scene for a few years now
and I have missed it. He said he wanted to start back this year
so we got him signed up and he will start his practices soon.
Report cards just came out for the 2nd nine weeks and they both
got A-B Honor roll and we could not be prouder of them.

I put up a few new pics and post so hope you enjoy and I will
try to do better!

Christmas Cookies

For as long as I can remember every year at Christmas we would
go to my grandmothers house to do Christmas cookis. So with me
being the oldest grand kid followed by 7 other I have done this for
many years. It was always so much fun and I have such great
memories of those times with all the cousins doing cookies with
grandma. Well much time has passed and she is getting older
and the grandkids are "to old" to still do that. So I have tied to
pick up where she has left off. I have not always done such a
good job at doing it every year but we have made it happen.
So this year we went home Christmas week to spend time with
family and we did cookies at Karen's house. It was such a fun time...
Enjoy the pics..

Rusty was trying to help her out while she rolled
out her cookies..man she did not want any help!
She kept saying, "I got it"

As you can see we made this a whole family afair!

Yes, that is Karen in an apron. Heck I dont
even own one of those....She is trying
to show off her Betty Crocker skills..LOL
If you look at the pick you will see a cookie "gun"
yea she has had that since she got married and
yes this was the first time we took it for a test drive.

Both our sweet girl.....

Kendall was such a good decorator....I asked her
to smile. Her response back " I cant right now
I am busy"

Okay Aunt Wendie I am ready now she tell me!
I tell you what the girl will keep you laughing...

SNOW

Well as luck would have it since we have moved to Georgia we have been having a time with the weather. Worst dry spell in history, followed by
the flood of the century. Then we have SNOW. Kids loved it since they got out of school early and then school was closed the next day.

We got some pictures of Hunter with a snow ball and a picture of the snow in the front yard.

This Florida girl will never get use to it. Yea is super pretty when it's falling but we do not know how to handle it. The day school was out, I too was stuck at home since all the roads were iced over. So it was a work from home day for me.
Which was not a problem because it was COLD!!!!!!!

CLUB VOLLEYBALL

We have now entered the uncharted waters of
"Club Volleyball" what a process this has turned out
to be. Georgia has about zillion of them but for us it
was trying to pick the best option for Taylor, location
and cost. (I had NO idea how expensive sports could get)

Monday: We headed over to Cobb Atlanta Volleyball.
She heads to the courts with all the other girls, the parents
have a meeting. Option 1 your daughter will get offered a
spot that night for the team and you have call backs. Option 2
you just get a call back. Okay no pressure...WRONG...I was
so nervous. But Taylor did just fine, she got an offer the
first night for the "RED" team (much like being selected for
the "A" team).

Tuesday: Taylor went to open court night and just practiced
to help with the following days ahead.

Wednesday: Head back to Cobb Atlanta for the "call back"
and again she did great and once again the coaches approach
us an told us they really wanted Taylor. So as parents we are
so very proud and say great we will let you know what we decide.

Thursday: Now we are on to Sky Volleyball tryouts. Not to
many girls show up for this try out but some had other tryouts
that overlapped. So the girls are all doing volleyball stuff and the
parents again have a meeting. Much like Monday night they
would either make and offer for the team or just ask you to come
back. Well Taylor put on quite a show and they really liked her.
(only have 10 coaches watching you and making comments on your skills
no pressure right??????????) We are the first parents to be approached
to they want Taylor to come play for them. Then about 15 min after that
he make an announcement that is he calls your daughters number he would
like to see all of us in the other room. OH GREAT!!! Well they call her number
we head to other room and all of us find out we have a spot on the team, then
we found out she has been offered to play up with the 14 year olds. We are thrilled.....

Now we have two clubs that would like Taylor so now we have to all sit
down and figure out what would be best for her. This club volleyball is
big stuff we have make sure she is at the right place..the PRESSURE....

With all that being said, I am super impressed on how far she has come in
such a short amount of time. She never even played volleyball till this summer
at a few camps we put her in. She continues to amaze me everytime I watch her.
She is such a natural at it........

We will keep you up to date on what happens with the "club" thing. We have
to make a commitment to a club on November 11th on what we want to do. That
is the drop date on all decisions for all girls that want to play.
